Obituary

Jerry Cleveland Pickett, 60, of Centerville, Tennessee, ascended to heaven on June 14, 2026, at his home.

Jerry was a native of Ashland City, Tennessee, and graduated from Cheatham County High School in 1984. He was the beloved husband of 38 years to Rachel “Marie” Johnson Pickett and the son of the late James Cleveland Pickett and Gladys Virginia Pickett. A self-taught Information Technology specialist—simply put, a true computer geek—he previously worked for CHS: Community Healthcare Systems. Jerry traveled to 38 states and loved the outdoors, especially riding motorcycles, playing air-soft and golf, mowing the yard, and, most of all, stargazing into the night sky. For 15 years, he and his wife partnered in ShadowBox Music. He was also a devoted science fiction fan who especially loved Doctor Who, Star Trek, and Star Wars. Above all, he will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor and his lifelong gift for making people laugh. In his final months, he received special care from Gentiva Hospice.

Survived by three sisters: Susan (Melvin) Felts, Leslie (Tracy) Pickett, Jackie Pickett and 1 nephew, Jeremy (Whitney) Pickett, sister-in-law, Rebecca Knox and mother-in-law, Judy Johnson. He leaves behind his furbaby Leia.

Funeral service will be Thursday, June 18, 2026, at 6pm with William Ronald Pentecost and Jeff Wagoner officiating. Cremation will follow the service. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 17, 2026, from 3pm to 7pm and on Thursday from 2pm to service hour of 6pm.
