ROGERS, Jean S., age 82, passed away on Monday, February 23, 2015, at her home. She was born on July 29, 1932, in Nashville, Tennessee, to Molten Simpkins and Susie Tidwell Simpkins. Mrs. Rogers was a member of the Scottsboro United Methodist Church and a homemaker, mother and caretaker. She was preceded in death by her parents, Molten and Susie Simpkins; siblings, Zanie Taylor and William Simpkins and a grandson, David Rogers. She is survived by her loving husband, Thomas E. Rogers; four sons, Tommy E. (Jennifer) Rogers, Jr., Terry Paul (Sherri) Rogers, Garry Len Rogers, and Barry (Julia) Rogers; brother, John Simpkins; sisters, Frankie Sue Crouch, Mary Nell Mills, and twin sister, Jane Simpkins; 9 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2015, at 1pm in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Nashville, TN, with Dr. Fred Johnson officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Tommy, Terry, Garry, Barry, and Aaron Rogers, Brandon Johnson, and Russell Hall. The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 25, 2015, at the funeral home from 3pm to 8pm.
