JAMES "POPS" WILLIE YORK, SR., age 77, passed away at his home on Sunday, February 4, 2018. Pops was born in Logan County, Kentucky, on May 8, 1940, to the late James Odell York and Mary Estes Hood York. He worked as a truck driver for Tri-State Paving and Sealing. He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers, George Benton York, Herman Lee York, John Thomas York and Clifton Odell York. He is survived by his sons: George (Debra) York, James Willie York, Jr., and Billy Joe York; daughter, Christy (Joe) Patterson; 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be Thursday, February 8, 2018, at 1pm in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home with Pastor Chris Moore officiating. Burial will follow in EverRest of Cheatham, LLC, in Pleasant View, Tennessee. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday, February 7th from 3pm to 8pm and on Thursday, February 8th from 10am until service hour of 1pm.
