DAVIS, James Thomas passed away Saturday, September 30, 2017, at the V.A. Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. He was born in Cheatham County, Tennessee, on February 7, 1934, to the late Ervin Franklin Davis and Mary Rye Bateman. He served in the United States Navy, a veteran of the Korean War. He worked in the logging business and retired from Cheatham County Highway Department. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Emma Frances Davis; three brothers, Dick, Baldy and Dub Davis and infant sister, Thelma Davis. He is survived by his son, Terry Davis (Debra); brother, Bobby Davis; sisters, Becky Baskerville and Teenie Wilson; grandchildren, Kelsey White (Brandon) and Jeremy Davis; and 6 great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be Wednesday, October 4, 2017, at 12noon in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home with Brother Shiloh Hacket officiating. Burial will follow in Neptune Smith Cemetery in Ashland City, Tennessee. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 3, 2017, from 2pm to 7pm and on Wednesday from 10am until service hour of 12noon.
