JAMES THOMAS PITTMAN, SR., age 71, passed away on Sunday, July 23, 2017, at Signature HealthCare in Nashville, Tennessee. Mr. Pittman was born on July 18, 1946, in Brooklyn, West Virginia, to the late William Daniel Pittman and Grace A. Waugh Pittman. He was a United States Army Veteran, serving during the Vietnam Conflict. After the military, he worked as a heavy equipment operator/construction foreman. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers: infant William D. Pittman and William "Butch" Pittman; and sister, Donna Gay Pittman. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Wanda Smith Pittman; son, James "Jimmy" (Valerie) Pittman, Jr.; daughter, Janel Pittman; brothers, Charles E. "Rocky" (Lana) Pittman and Curtis D. "Corky" (Andrea) Pittman; sisters, Drema (Tom) Gambill, Joyce Sue "Susie" (Danny) Conner, Lori Ann "Sam" McDaniel and Tammy Louise "Buffy" (Gary) Darnell; and 4 grandchildren, T.J., Taylor, Tyler and Trentyn Pittman. Funeral service will be Wednesday, July 26, 2017, at 7pm in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home with Reverend Jack Batson officiating. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday, July 26th from 4pm until service hour of 7pm.
