James "J.B." Davis passed away on April 8, 2013 at Boca Raton Regional Hospital in Florida. He was born on January 10, 1930 to the late Vernon and Grace Davis in Ashland City, TN. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy for 10 years. Upon his discharge, he married the love of his life, Gemma. Together they had four children, Raymond, Mark, Tina Marie, and Wendy. The Davis family traveled the world with J.B. for his career as a Marine Superintendent for Oil Rigs. Eventually, they settled in Margate, FL where J.B. enjoyed his job with HCI as a truck driver.
J.B. had a true passion for his family, golf, his dogs Truffles and Daisy, and taking care of the stray cats behind HCI. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Gemma; his children, 10 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren; brothers Bartley Davis, George Davis, Stanley Davis, and sister Billie Jean Martin, step-brothers Buddy Baker, Bobby Baker, and step-sister Faye Coffman. He was preceded in death by a brother Talton Davis and sister Eloise Cripps.
On Thursday, April 18, 2013 at 3 PM a Celebration of Life Service will be held at Cheatham County Funeral Home. Visitation begins at 2pm. The family requests donations in lieu of flowers be made to the Humane Society.
