CREECH, Irene Leaverne, age 88, passed away on Friday, January 22, 2016, at Hillcrest Healthcare Center in Ashland City, Tennessee. She was born in Cheatham County, Tennessee, on January 22, 1928, the daughter of the late William W. Gray and Florence H. Colgate Gray. She was a member of Church of God of Prophecy for 48 years. She was married to the late George Warner Creech, Sr., on April 12, 1944. They were married for 48 years and had two children, George W. Creech, Jr., (Sue Gordon Creech) and Valerie Dawn Creech Blanton. She was employed as a nursing aid for 18 years. She had many good memories of her grandmother Mary Jane Ellen Bowker Colgate. Irene was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; brothers, Clyde Odell Gray, Jasper Claude Gray, Macina "Mack" Gray, and Baby William Gray; sisters, Virginia Gray and Roberta Gray. She is survived by her two children, George Creech, Jr, (Sue) and Valerie Creech Blanton; three grandchildren, George Andrew Creech, Andrea Sue Creech Childress and Alisha Dawn Randolph Averitt; 9 great-grandchildren, George Matthew Creech, Austin Cecil Anderson, Katelyn Dawn Hobbs, Richard Peyton Brice Randolph, Emily Nicole Randolph, Kyrsten Malia Randolph, Chad Lucas Averitt, Ava Sue Childress and Abby Faith Childress. Funeral service will be Thursday, January 28, 2016, at 11am in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home with Reverend Mike Burton and Reverend Donn Lovvorn officiating. Burial will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery in Ashland City, Tennessee. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 26, 2016, from 5pm to 7pm and on Wednesday, from 11am until 8pm and on Thursday from 9am until service hour of 11am.
