Gloria M. (Grimes) Carpenter, age 67, of Ashland City, Tennessee, passed away at Northcrest Medical Center in Springfield, Tennessee, on Thursday, January 25, 2024. She was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, on February 23, 1956, to the late Orville Grimes and Gayra (Hammock) Grimes. She worked at Whitts Barbeque. Gloria is preceded in death by her parents, Orivlle and Gayra Grimes; son, Jerry Reed; daughter, Carrie Reed; brothers, Phillip Grimes, Dale Grimes, and James Grimes; and sisters, Rosemary Shaffer and Elizabeth Diane Pahl. She is survived by her sister, Peggy Lyon; dear friends and caregivers, Ricky and Becky Jennette, and Mindy Madden. She will be fondly remembered and missed by her family, friends, and loyal customers. Funeral service will be Thursday, February 1, 2024, at 1pm in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home with Brother Jeff Grimes officiating. Burial will follow in Bearwallow Community Cemetery in Ashland City, Tennessee. Visitation will be the same day from 11am until the service hour of 1pm.
