HARRELL, German Rice, age 77, passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2015, at Christian Care Center in Ashland City, Tennessee. He was born February 11, 1938, in Franklin, Tennessee, to Walter Miles Harrell and Bessie Wood Harrell. He was a retired United States Navy Chief Petty Officer. German was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, James Harrell and Walter Miles Harrell, Jr.; and grandson, Christopher Ryan Southgate. He is survived by his loving wife, Lena Batson Harrell; daughters, Tammy (Marcus) Rich of Ashland City, Tennessee, and Sherry (Robert) Flores of Rock Springs, Wyoming; sisters, Betty McPeak of Columbia, Tennessee, and Barbara (Elbert) McPeak, of Chapel Hill, Tennessee; grandchildren: Ronda Harrell, Jeremy Jones, Jennifer Jones, Johnathan Rich, and Tyler Rich; and sister-in-law, Mabel Harrell of Monett, Missouri. Funeral service will be Friday, July 10, 2015, at 11am in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home with Brother Leon Edwards and Brother Sam Creed officiating. Burial will follow in EverRest of Cheatham, LLC, in Pleasant View, Tennessee, with full military honors. Serving as pallbearers: Marcus Rich, Jeremy Jones, Willie Harrell, Mark McPeak, Dan Hunnell, Joe Rich, and Gary McPeak. Honorary pallbearers are the Friends of the Ashland City Senior Citizens Center. The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 9, 2015, from 4pm to 8pm and on Friday from 9am until service hour of 11am.
