Geneva C. Newman, age 84, passed away on May 9, 2019, at Hillcrest Health Care Center in Ashland City, Tennessee. Geneva was born in Rhea County, Tennessee, on July 29, 1934, to the late Clayten Edward Crisp and Minerva Edwards Crisp. She worked as an LPN for Hillcrest Health Care and for the Cheatham County Board of Education at East Cheatham Elementary School as a custodian. Geneva was preceded in death by her parents; husband of over 20 years, Hubert "Boots" Newman; sons, Franklin Eugene Newman, Sr., and David Allen Newman; brothers, Cecil, Edward, Frank, J.C. and John Thomas Crisp; sisters, Rosielee, Bertha Mae, and Coralee Crisp. She is survived by her daughters: Stephanie (Steve) Brock, Debra Wilkes, Vicky Newman and Tina Newman; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and special friends, Danny Canfield and Lisa Houchin. Funeral service will be Monday, May 13, 2019, at 6pm in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home with her granddaughter, Angie Harville, delivering the eulogy.
