Gary Brooks Harris, age 68, of Dover, TN, and formerly of Pleasant View, TN, passed away in Nashville, TN, on Wednesday, August 30, 2023. Brooks was born in Nashville on January 17, 1955, to the late Russell Harris and Alma (Jordan) Harris. He graduated from Cheatham County High School and worked in sales at Tire Hub. Brooks was an avid golfer and sportsman. He recently retired and he and Jo Ann relocated from Pleasant View to their lake house in the Leatherwood Community of Dover, TN. He was volunteering part-time at Paris Landing State Park Golf Course where his "job" was to perfect his golf swing. He is preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Alma Harris. Brooks was a loving and devoted husband to his wife, Jo Ann Harris; loving father to his children, Monika Stuard (Bobby Cordeiro) and son, Gary "BJ" Harris (Ashleigh); and wonderful grandfather to his two grandchildren, Deacon and Owen Harris, all of whom survive him. A farewell visitation to Brooks will be held Saturday, September 2, 2023, from 10am to 2pm in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home.
