Frances W. Elliott Newman, age 85, passed away on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at TriStar Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. She was born on October 20, 1938, in Nashville, Tennessee, to the late Charlie Whittle and Lillie (Lane) Whittle. She worked as a team leader for Plug-In. Frances is preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Lillie Whittle; husbands, Austin Lee Elliott and Billy Ray Newman; sons, Donald Harding and Terry Elliott; brother, Billy Whittle; and sisters, Reba Whittle and Lucille Stinson. She is survived by her son, Jeffrey Elliott (Beatrix Schmitt); stepchildren, Steve (Coni) Newman and Teresa Thomason; grandchildren, Crystal Whitaker, Alyssa Harris, Jessica Elliott, Brittney Elliott-Rollins, Brandon Harding, and Kevin Elliott; and numerous great grandchildren. Funeral service will be Thursday, August 22, 2024, at 1pm in the Chapel. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park in Nashville, Tennessee. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 21, 2024, from 4pm to 8pm, and Thursday, August 22, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 1p.m. in the Chapel.
