Frances Jean Carroll, 86, of Ashland City, Tennessee, peacefully departed this life on Thursday night, April 17, 2025, at her home surrounded by her loved ones.
She was born August 2, 1938, in Ashland City, Tennessee, to the late Jessie B. Nicholson and Annie Marie (Bobbitt) Nicholson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Henry Tommy Carroll; and granddaughter, Kelsey Olivia Forbes.
Frances was a lifelong resident of Ashland City. She worked at ACME Boot, Horace Small, and the Cheatham County Courthouse for approximately 17 years. Her other occupation was talking on the phone. She was a very hard worker in any and everything she did. She was a very outgoing person and loved talking to all those she met. She was a generous and loving soul who loved her grandbabies and family very much. She had a green thumb and a knack for gardening, specifically flowers. She also enjoyed doing word searches in her spare time.
She leaves behind her loving children, Patsy Nichols (John Otis) and Pam Forbes (Mark); sister, Jane Polston (Mark); grandchildren, Joshua Carroll Nichols (fiancée Kelly), Jessie Lynn Lavender (Joey), Jacob Daniel Forbes (Tina), Matthew Forbes (Marry Lee), Brian Forbes (Sara); and great grandchildren, Madelyn "Maddie" Abigail Nichols, Sadie Lynn Nichols Lavender, Chaney Lavender, Cade Lavender, Conner Forbes, Owen Forbes, Scarlett Forbes, Ivy Forbes, Sawyer Forbes, Ava Mae Allen, Waylon Forbes, Caleb Forbes, Silas Forbes, Duncan Forbes, Vivien Forbes, and Evalisie Divitio.
Funeral service will be Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at 12pm, in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home with Bryant Harris officiating. Burial will follow at Bethlehem Cemetery in Ashland City, Tennessee. Visitation will be on Monday, April 21, 2025, from 4pm to 7pm and Tuesday, April 22, 2025, from 10am till the service hour of 12pm. Jacob Forbes, Joshua Nichols, John Otis Nichols, Mark Forbes, Bryant Harris, and Johnny Wayne Bobbitt will be serving as pallbearers.
