Fernando D. Garza, age 83, passed away suddenly on Thursday, January 7, 2021. Fernando was born in Monterey, Mexico, on August 17, 1937, to the late Salvador Garza and Matilda Diaz Garza. He was a United States Army Veteran, an alcohol and drug counselor for Cumberland Heights, and a Spanish teacher for the Ashland City Senior Center. He is preceded in death by his parents; and Grandson Wyatt Anderson. He is survived by his sons; Richard Garza (Lou), Freddie Garza (Tammy Jo), and James Douglas Garza; daughters; Pat Anderson and Laura Atkins (Hugh), Grandchildren; Randall Anderson (Heather), Daniel Anderson (Misty), Josh Garza (Amanda), Zach Garza (Sarah), Sean Atkins and Rachel Garza; Great-Grandchildren; Jackson Anderson, Preston Anderson, Lauren Anderson, Tanner Anderson, Gabriel Garza, Caleb Garza and Avery Garza. A graveside service will be Friday, January 8, 2021, at 12noon in EverRest of Cheatham, LLC, in Pleasant View.
