POWERS, ETTA DAVIS, 102, passed away on Tuesday, March 27, 2018. She was born on January 3, 1916, in Barnardsville, NC, to Benjamin Walter Davis and Misha Lee Haynes Davis. She was a wife, mother and homemaker. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Troy Wayne "Trigger" Powers; sisters, Vonnie Bell and Anne Thompson; brothers, Erdmond "Tug" Davis, Wallace Davis, Rollins Davis, and great-grandson, Johnathan Powers. She is survived by her daughter, Waynette (Jackie) Miller; son, Benjamin (Sandy) Powers; sisters, Novella Pegg and Grethel Rickman; 3 grandchildren, Jack (Harlen) Miller, Jr., Andrea (Daniel) Cox, Josh (Julie) Powers and 2 great-grandchildren, Tyler Powers, Joe Miller, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Powers was a member of Trinity of Fairview Baptist Church. She loved gardening, painting, and traveling. Her two trips to the Holy Land were her favorites.
A graveside service will be Monday, April 2, 2018, in Calvary Episcopal Church Cemetery in Fletcher, NC, with Reverend Steve Harris and Reverend Stacy Harris officiating.
