Edward "Ed" Wayne Ramsey, age 91, formerly of Ashland City, passed away on Monday, February 6, 2023, at his home in Oak Grove, Kentucky. He was born in Union City, Tennessee on December 25, 1931, to the late Dewitt Ramsey and Estelle (Priest) Ramsey. Ed was a member of Bethel Free Will Baptist Church, served his country for 20 years in the United States Air Force as a Technical Sergeant during Vietnam, a Mason and a Shriner. He was a retired Safety Director for State Industries. Ed is preceded in death by his parents, Dewitt and Estelle Ramsey; wife of 63 years, Pat Ramsey and sister, Barbara Ramsey. He is survived by children, Johnny Ramsey (Ruth), Ron Ramsey (Connie), Bill Ramsey (Terry), Steve Ramsey (Dot), Lisa Rice (John), Paul Ramsey and Judy Berryhill; brother, Donnie Ramsey (Betty); sister, Sue Elam (Fred); and 11 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be Saturday, February 11, 2023, at 1pm in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home with Brother Terry Forrest officiating. Burial will follow in Neptune-Smith Cemetery in Ashland City, Tennessee, with grandchildren serving as pallbearers.
