Donna Jean Wayman Rayburn Tomlin passed away peacefully March 7, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones at Centennial Hospital.
Donna was born December 1, 1943, to the late Finice Earl Wayman and Catherine (Simpson) Wayman.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband(s) Steve Rayburn and Sonny Tomlin; brothers, Roy Wayman, Harold Dean Wayman, Johnny Wayman; sisters, Carmen Rader, Morene Harris, Ruth Nicholson, and Lorene Louallen.
She is survived by sister, Beverly Williams; sons, Gregory Shane (Becca) Rayburn and Michael (Renee) Rayburn; grandsons, Joshua Rayburn, Jonathan Rayburn; and granddaughters, Summer (Jacob) Trotter, Kassie Ferrell; great-grandsons, Aiden Rayburn and Jacob Trotter; and great-granddaughter, Ava Rayburn.
Donna graduated top of her nursing class in 1983. She worked for Cheatham County Health Department in the early part of her career. She then went on to work for the State of Tennessee for many years and finally into private practice before retirement.
Donna will be remembered most for her dedicated love, commitment and compassion she had for family, patients, and children that she took care of most of her life. She aided in the caring of siblings near the end of their lives. She was always there to lend a hand to anyone in need. Her faith was strong, and she raised her sons with the same unwavering faith she had. She was a member of Cheap Hill Church of Christ.
A graveside service will be Monday, March 10th at 5pm in EverRest of Cheatham in Pleasant View, Tennessee.
