Donald Lee Batson, age 87, of Charlotte, Tennessee, passed away at his home in Charlotte, Tennessee, on Tuesday, February 14, 2023. He was born in Charlotte, Tennessee, on April 27, 1935, to the late Arthur Clarence Batson and Lydia Mai (Hunter) Batson. He was a member of New Life Apostolic Church and served his country in the United States Army. Donald worked as a self-employed carpenter. He is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Lydia Batson; daughter, Debra Joyce Weston; son, Bobby Grant; brothers, Alexander "Bud" Batson, A. C. Batson, Jr., and John D. Batson; and sisters, Lena Harrell, Betty Jane Reynolds, and Dovalene Batson; and grandson, Noah Shahnavaz. Donald is survived by his wife, Barbara Lee (Broslat) Batson; sons, Dr. Jerry Lee Batson (Linda), Matthew (Laurie) Shahnavaz, Dennis McGlothren (Linda), and Buddy Grant; brother, Jack Bruce Batson (Charolyn); sisters, Frances Batts (Mike) and Aline Roberts (Charles); grandchildren, Rachel, Lauren, Teresa, Jeremy (Stephanie), Elijah, Sarah and Josh; great grandchildren, Eric, Hali, Austin, Dillon, Alijah, Brystol, Ryder, and Dallas; and two great-great grandchildren, Ember and Alex. Funeral Service will be Sunday, February 19, 2023, at 2pm at New Life Apostolic Church, 4712 Clarksville Pike, Nashville, Tennessee 37218, with Nathan Batson officiating. Burial will follow in EverRest of Cheatham in Pleasant View, Tennessee. Visitation will be Saturday, February 18th, from 2pm to 6pm in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home. Visitation will resume Sunday at the church from 1pm to service hour of 2pm. Serving as active pallbearers will be Jeremy Robertson, David Batson, Elijah Shahnavaz, Mike Manon, Rachel Batson, and Dennis McGlothren.
