BARRE, Docia Groves Howard, age 86, of Ashland City, TN, died September 30, 2013. Mrs. Barre was formerly a cosmetologist and retired in 1976 as a computer operator at ACME Boot Co. Mrs. Barre was the daughter of the late Lanville and Bessie Groves. She was also preceded in death by husbands, Virgil Howard and Charlie Barre, and 11 brothers and sisters. She is survived by son, Kenneth (Jan) Groves; two grandsons; Kenneth Groves, Jr. and Warren Lee (Hannah) Groves; five great grandchildren. She is also survived by seven stepchildren: Vera (Sam) Pennington, Barbara (Jim) Parris, Judy Reid, Charles, Jr. (Sandy) Barre, Gary (Joan) Barre, Carl (Sue) Barre, and James (Tina) Barre; 15 step grandchildren, 2 step great grandchildren and 2 step great, great grandchildren. Funeral service will be conducted October 4, 2013, at 1pm Cheatham County Funeral Home with Rev. M.C. Howard officiating. Interment will follow at Rock Springs Church in Dickson County. Visitation with the family will be Thursday, October 3, 2013, from 4pm to 7pm and on Friday from 11am until time of service 1pm.
