David Bruce Thompson, Sr., age 71, passed away on Saturday, December 31, 2022, in Ashland City, Tennessee. He was born in Nashville, Tennessee on June 20, 1951, to the late John Calvin Thompson and Pearl Elizabeth (Hand) Thompson. He was the owner of Thompson Roofing Company. He was an avid deer hunter, who loved bow hunting and hunting with his beagle hounds, as well as riding with his grandchildren on his 4 wheeler. David is preceded in death by his parents, John and Pearl Thompson; brothers, Clint Thompson, Johnny Thompson, Joe Thompson, Ralph Thompson, and Calvin Rose; and his sisters, Ruby Carter, Carolyn Thompson, Margaret Gilliam, and Dora Patterson. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Debbie Thompson, children, Tonia Shadowens (Dywayne), David B. Thompson, Jr. (Emily), Jeremy Thompson, Eric Wakefield (Nathalie), and Stormie Wakefield; brother, Carlos Thompson (Sherry); sisters, Jean Parker and Marilyn Roberts (Paul), grandchildren, Matt Thompson (Anna), Rachel Thompson-Orozco (Josè), Cody Thompson, Lauren Shadowens Bratton (Daniel), Hunter Thompson, Cole Thompson, Garrett Thompson, Hallie Thompson, Owen Wakefield, and Luke Wakefield; and great grandchildren, Ryan Thompson-Orozco, Milani Thompson-Orozco, Tynslee Thompson, and Hayden Thompson. Funeral service will be Thursday, January 5, 2023, at 1pm in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home with Brother Roger "Bo" Schmittou officiating. Burial will follow in Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens in Nashville, Tennessee. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 4, 2023, from 2pm to 7pm, and Thursday, January 5, 2023, from 10am until the hour of service.
