David "Pops" Newland, age 55, passed away on January 13, 2022 in Ashland City, Tennessee. He was born in Nashville, Tennessee, on May 6, 1966. David is preceded in death by his father, James L. Newland; grandparents, James R. and Elizabeth Newland; grandmother, Lorene Hendricks; and grandson, Bradley Hudgens. He is survived by his mother, Cathey Phipps (Robert); sons, JD Newland (Jessica), Chris White (Heaven), Christopher Escue Jr. (Sara); daughter, Amber Graham (Matt); sister, Sandy Kay Vanwinkle; and grandchildren, Daniel White, Morgan White, Hannah Newland, Ava Newland, Brian Hudgens, Landon Chadwick, and James Lee Escue. Funeral Service will be Tuesday, January 18, 2022, at 1pm in the chapel with Pastor Leon Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in Newland Cemetery in Ashland City, Tennessee. Visitation will be Monday, January 17, from 2-7pm and on Tuesday from 10am until the hour of service. Serving as pallbearers will be Joe Trotter, Greg Harris, Christopher Escue Sr., Christopher Escue Jr., Matt Hudson, and Daniel White.
