DARRELL EDWARD GUPTON, age 78, passed away on February 3, 2018. He was born in Clarksville (Sango), Tennessee, on October 16, 1939, to the late Edmond Quincy Gupton and Margie Louise Brown Minton. He was a member of Mallorys United Methodist Church in Chapmansboro, Tennessee. Darrell was a retired heavy equipment mechanic, working for Lewis and Birchfield, Oman Construction, Nixon Machinery and Hobbs Equipment Company. Darrell was fortunate to retire from public work at the age of 50 and be a full-time farmer, his favorite line of work. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Darrell is preceded in death by his parents, Edmond Quincy Gupton and Margie Louise Brown Minton; son, Edward Shawn Gupton; daughter, Cynthia Deneise Gupton; brothers, Noel and Ken Gupton; and sister, Fay Magaw. He is survived by his wife of over 40 years, Evelyn Milom Gupton; sons, Terry Travis and Jeff (Sandi) Travis; daughters, Bridget Gupton (Jim) Hartsook and Kelly Hampton; sister, Kay (Harry) Miller; 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be Wednesday, February 7, 2018, at 1pm in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home with Brother Terry Forrest and Brother Jon Forrest officiating. Burial will follow in Mallorys UMC Cemetery in Chapmansboro, Tennessee. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday, February 6, 2018, from 3pm to 7pm and on Wednesday, February 7th, from 10am until service hour of 1pm. Serving as active pallbearers will be Kenny Milom, Danny Orange, T.J. Jameson, Keith Gupton, Randy Miller, and Gary Miller. Honorary pallbearers are Mike Gupton, Jimmy Clifton and Coop Gupton.
