HAMBLIN, Daisy May, age 86, of Ashland City, TN, passed away on Sunday, October 7, 2012. Miss Daisy and her husband, Minor, moved to Ashland City in 1962 with their five children. She lived in Ashland City fifty years and spent her life in service to the community and in being a caretaker for the elderly. She loved her work with the Cheatham County Fair Board. She loved participating in the Ashland City Parades. She cherished her time with the Senior Citizens group as well as her Senior Adult Group she formed at her church, Harvest Fields. Miss Daisy loved people and this is demonstrated by her numerous friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Lena Mae Pardue Prater; her husband, Minor Hamblin; daughter, Brenda Aldridge; grandson, Jimmy Trotter. She is survived by her sons, Prince Albert Hamblin, George Harold (Cathy) Hamblin, and Elvis Hamblin; daughters, Geneva (Richard) Sissom and Sherry (Joseph); sisters, Ollie Mae Trotter and Violett Brandon; 13 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be Wednesday, October 10, 2012, at 2pm in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home with Brother Louis Mills officiating. Burial will follow in the Pardue Cemetery in Ashland City, TN. Pallbearers will be Joshua Hamblin, Jimmie Baggett, Jackie Trotter, Joe Trotter, Danny Bowden, Jr., Nathan Cottrell. Honorary pallbearers are: Ricky Sissom, Jake Istvanditch, Richard Sissom, Wendell Ingram, Jeffrey Davis, Joe Davis, Jerry Brandon, Jr., and Michael Byrd. Visitation with the family will be Monday from 11am to 8pm, Tuesday from 10am until 8pm and Wednesday from 10am until funeral hour of 2pm.
