D. Mildred Justice, age 87, passed away on January 9, 2016, at The Residence at Alive Hospice in Nashville, Tennessee. She was born on January 22, 1928, to Alonza Smith and Minnie Dowdy Smith. She was a member of Neptune Clifton United Methodist Church since 1955, graduated from Ashland City High School a member of the Class of 46, worked for Acme Boot and was Registrar at Large for Cheatham County. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Herman and Arthur Smith; sisters, Betty Smith, Ruth Bateman, Doris Hunter, Jessie Cook, and Gaynell Justice Butterworth. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Pete Justice; son, Charlie (Valerie) Hunter; sister, Billie Miles of Adams, Tennessee; grandchildren, Caroline and Caitlin Hunter; several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be Tuesday, January 12, 2016, at 1pm in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home with Reverend Penny Stratton officiating. Burial will follow in Neptune-Smith Cemetery in Ashland City, Tennessee. The family will receive friends on Monday, January 11, 2016, from 3pm to 7pm and on Tuesday, January 12, 2016, from 11am until service hour of 1pm. Serving as pallbearers will be Scottie and Jerry Miles, Benji Hunter, Phil Parker, Bobby Shivers, and Jennifer Hunter. Honorary pallbearer is Billy Ray Hunter.
