Obituary

Clem "Junk Man" Day passed away peacefully at the age of 84 on Saturday morning, April 20, 2019, at Hillcrest Nursing Home in Ashland City, TN. He is preceded in death by his parents, John H. and LV Day; the love of his life, Helen Estes, and children, Eddie, Tony and Billy Day. Survived by children, Ronnie, Timmy, Bobby Joe (Susan) Day, and Debbie (George) Towne; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a very special nephew, Bobby (Tammy) Shrum. Bobby was more like a son than a nephew; he was Clem's best friend—when you saw one you saw the other. Tammy took care of him and made sure he had everything he needed or wanted. Those who knew Clem knew he loved his junk. He would spend hours tearing apart a tv or a broken appliance. He loved to find toys and clean them up or replace the batteries just so he could give it to one of the many kids that called him Uncle Clem. He loved his friends and all his family. He would stand and argue with you until he turned red in the face, but at the end of the day he loved you. He loved to drink but the last several months there was none of that. He knew the Lord and Sunday mornings you always knew what he was watching…that was his going to church. He loved to hear his buddy Mark preach. I do believe he made Heaven his home and is with the Lord and the love of his life.
