THORNTON, Cleo, age 91, passed away on Tuesday, June 23, 2015, at Oak Hill Senior Living in Portland, Tennessee. She was born August 28, 1923, in Cheatham County, Tennessee, to Lynn Reeves and Ida Cochran Reeves. Cleo was a member of Sycamore Chapel Church of Christ and a cafeteria manager for Pleasant View Elementary School. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Curtis Thornton; son, James "Jim" C. Thornton; brother, Jadie Reeves. She is survived by her daughter, Gale (Larry) Newton and son, Jay (Peggy) Thornton; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 25, 2015, at 11am in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home with Brother Cliett Goodpasture officiating. Burial will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery in Ashland City, Tennessee. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday, June 24, 2015, from 3pm to 7pm and on Thursday before the service from 9am until service hour of 11am.
