Charlie Leroy Mays, age 88, of Ashland City, Tennessee, passed away in Nashville, Tennessee, on Wednesday, February 22, 2023. He was born in Parsons, Tennessee, on December 6, 1934, to the late Rufus Clarence Mays and Bertha Magnolia (Lancaster) Mays. He worked as a plant manager for Container Corporation of America and Weyerhaeuser. Charlie is preceded in death by his parents, Rufus and Bertha Mays; wife, Betty Jean (Rushing) Mays; brothers, R.C. Mays, Royce Mays, and Lloyd Mays; sister, Evelyn Reeves; and son-in-law, Richard Alexander, Jr. He is survived by his daughters, Pamela Eden and Phyllis Alexander; grandchild, Heath Eden; step grandchildren, Regina Phillips (Tom) and Cody Alexander (Bryanna); and special friend, Jimmy Drake. And a special thanks to our family friend, Linda Towns. Funeral service will be Saturday, February 25, 2023, at 12noon at Iron Hill Pentecostal Church in Parsons, Tennessee, with Rev. Nelson Reeves, Jr., officiating, and Rev. Bobby Beecham and Rev. Darrin Graves assisting. Burial will follow in Iron Hill Pentecostal Church Cemetery.
