Charles "Charlie" Edward Knight, age 79, of Ashland City, Tennessee, departed this life on Friday, June 27, 2025, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on March 12, 1946, in Nashville, Tennessee to the late Jadie Woodrow Knight and Myrtle Louise (Leibfitz) Knight. He is also preceded in death by daughter, Melissa Diane Clemons; brother, James Woodrow Knight; and sisters, Betty Ruth Pursley and Janice Louise Binkley. Charles enjoyed many things, but his one passion was playing music. He was a godly man and loved his family dearly. He was a machinist and retired from J&J Machine and Tool. He leaves behind his loving wife, Carolyn (Harris) Knight; son, Keith Edward Knight (Rita Marie); brother, Jesse Ray Knight; sister, Faye Winters; grandson, Jeremy Edward Clemons (Ashley); and son-in-law, Jerry Clemons (Rhonda). Funeral service will be Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at 1pm in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home with Brothers Joe Bogle and Greg Smith officiating. Burial will follow at EverRest of Cheatham in Pleasant View, Tennessee. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 1, 2025, from 3pm to 7pm and Wednesday, July 2, 2025, from 10am until the service hour of 1pm. Serving as pallbearers will be Johnny Harris, Johnny Harris, Jr., James Knight, Windle Bess, Ronald Knight, and Chris Branch. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Shadowens, Mark Polston, Steve Pearson, Paul Schlatt, and Billy Green.
