Charles Robert (Bob) Burton, age 80, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 14, 2020, at his home surrounded by his family. Bob was born in Nashville, Tennessee, on August 14, 1940, to Charles Edward Burton and Constance Geraldine McLean Burton. Bob was a United States Navy Veteran, Mason and Shriner and a proud graduate of East Nashville High School, Class of 1958, where his attendance was perfect. He was a supervisor for Matlock, Nashville Wire Company. He is preceded in death by his father and son, John Charles Burton. He is survived by his mother, Constance Geraldine McLean Burton; daughter, Kim (Kenny) Gregory; brother, Hugh Burton; sister, Sue Putnam; grandchildren, Carrie (David) Beaty and Kristen Burton (Bill Morse); great-grandchildren, Landyn Morse, Aniyah Morse and companion of over 36 years, Shirley Creasy. Funeral service will be Friday, September 18, 2020, at 1pm in the Chapel of Phillips- Robinson Funeral Home in Nashville, Tennessee. Masonic rites will be performed Thursday following visitation at 7pm. Visitation will be Thursday, September 17th from 1pm to 7pm at Phillips- Robinson and on Friday before the service from 10am until service hour of 1pm.
