Mrs. Carolyn Rose (Thoman) Karns, age 68, of Ashland City, TN, passed away June 24, 2014, after a lengthy battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Agnes Thoman and a brother, William. She is survived by husband of 45 years, Gary, Ashland City, TN, sons: James Karns (Patty), Freelandville, IN; John Karns, Sherrard, IL; Nathan Karns, Rock Island, IL and a daughter, Amanda Karns, Nashville, TN; grandchildren, Elizabeth & Grace Karns of Bettendorf, IA; Raven & Hayden Karns, Monroe City, IN & Gavin Karns of Freelandville, IN. She is also survived by her siblings: Gail Pappas of North Carolina; Anne Thoman of Indianapolis, IN; Robert Thoman of Rushville, IN; Ellen Greet (Nick) of Castle Rock, CO; Patricia Werle (Joseph) of Indianapolis, IN; John Thoman (Jeane) of Rushville, IN; Janet Uda of Salt Lake City, UT; Fred Thoman of Rushville, IN; Joanie Saba (Joe) of Greenwood, IN; Rita Anderson (Gary) of Phoenix, AZ; Ed Thoman (Jacci) of Connersville, IN and Steve Thoman (Jan) of Rushville, IN and several aunts, nieces and nephews. Mrs. Karns body has been donated to Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and no funeral services will be conducted. A memorial service will be conducted at 11am, June 28, 2014, at St. Martha's Catholic Church, 3331 Bell Street, Ashland City, TN.
