Carolyn Jackson Lockert was born February 19, 1947, in Nashville to the late Richard Covington Jackson and Elizabeth (Morris) Jackson of Pleasant View. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mike Lockert, and two twin infant sons, Matthew Jackson and Michael Perry Lockert.
She was a school teacher for 37 years. As one of the 1st kindergarten teachers in Cheatham County, she taught every grade up to 8th, where she ultimately ended her teaching career with her beloved 8th grade team from Sycamore Middle School. She had a passion for not just educating students but also investing in their lives and ensuring that they always felt loved and supported.
She grew up as a member of Pleasant View United Methodist Church and then transferred her membership later to Ashland City United Methodist Church. She had a love for plants and flowers, reading, crossword puzzles, and playing games. She was an avid supporter of her kids and grandkids, being present and supportive of activities ranging from sports of all kinds, theater, music, pageants, art, etc.
She leaves behind her son, Will Lockert (Ashley); daughters, Marcie Ridley (Larry), Kelly Lewis (Jason), and Melissa Lain (Scott); sister, Betty A. Anderson (Harold); and grandchildren, Victoria, Emma Beth, and Analee Lewis, Kira Ridley, Anthony, Jackson, Aidan, and Katelyn Lain, Emilio Gaytan (Kaylyn) and Marcos Gaytan, Liam, Loghan, and Lynnley Lockert, and her beloved canine companion, Sadie.
Funeral service will be Sunday, September 7, 2025, at 3pm in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home with Chris Young and Jake Lockert officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, September 6, 2025, from 1pm to 6pm and Sunday, September 7, 2025, from 1pm till the service hour of 3pm. Burial will follow at Lockert Family Cemetery in Ashland City, Tennessee. Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons: Anthony Lain, Jackson Lain, Aidan Lain, Emilio Gaytan, Marcos Gaytan, Liam Lockert, and Loghan Lockert.
