Carmela G. Roark, age 86, went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, August 28, 2019, at Centennial Medical Center in Ashland City, Tennessee. Carmela was born in Panama on December 21, 1932, to Natali Gonzalez and Elena Perez Gonzalez. Carmela was a retired hairdresser for men. She was a lead dancer and had an upcoming pow-wow she always would attend in Rockport, Indiana. She had just created a new regalia. She lived her life humbly and for the Lord. She loved her husband, Paul, whom she lost recently and her family, but above all, she loved the Lord. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paul Roark; and granddaughter, Jessica "Jessa" Lynn Johnson. She is survived by her sons, Dan (Donna) Johnson and their daughter, Holly Rachel Johnson; and David (Pamela) Johnson and their son, Anthony; daughters: Rosa Linda (John Henry) Pursley and their children, Jeanette, Judy and John; Betty Jane Hunt and her children, Larry, Robert, Samantha and Forest; Nelda (Mike) Smith and their children, Michael, Cynthia and Randy; Mary Ann (Scott) Terranova and their children, Chasity, Nathan, Danielle, and Aaron; Angeline (Tim) Temple and their children, Bryan and Amanda; and Teresa Rebecca Johnson and her children, Nicholas, Benjamin and Addison; 7 brothers and sisters. Funeral service will be Monday, September 2, 2019, at 2pm in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home. Burial will follow in EverRest of Cheatham, LLC, in Pleasant View, Tennessee. Visitation will be Sunday, September 1, 2019, from 1pm to 7pm and on Monday before the service from 10am until service hour of 2pm. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
