Bruce Newland, Sr., age 87, of Ashland City, Tennessee, passed away at his home on Wednesday, June 16, 2021. Bruce was born on April 6, 1934, in Ashland City, Tennessee. He was a roofer and a member of Union 176 for fifty years. He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Beverly (Randell) Tansil; brothers, James, Joe, Delmous, and L.W. "Tex" Newland; sisters, Bertha Chandler, Mabel Binkley, Ellie Mae Spears, Uldean Blanton, Mary Dozier, Maxine Scalf, and Uldean Blanton; granddaughter, April Tansil. He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Cannon Newland; son, Bruce Newland Jr. (Elissa); brothers, Herman (Sharon) Newland, and John Earl Newland (Sue); sister, Dell Linthacum; grandchildren, Chassie Combs (Greg), Bruce Newland III, and Brielle Newland; great-grandchildren, Alexis Carter-Tansil, Airreannah Combs, James Combs, Saivyer Combs; great-great granddaughter, Charleigh Ann Hancock. Funeral service for Bruce will be Saturday, June 19th, 2021, at 1pm in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home. Visitation will be Saturday June 19th, from 11am until the service hour of 1pm. Serving as pallbearers will be Mark Cannon, Jason Cannon, Bruce Newland III, Carl Evans, Jerry Moon, Robert Newland, and Preston Newland.
