He was retired from Ford Glass. He was preceded in death by his parents John Dozier and Thelma Jenkins Thompson and sister, Bea Thompson. He is survived by sons: Edward (Vanessa) Thompson, Michael (Trisha) Thompson, Robby (Janet) Thompson, and Bobby Glenn Thompson; daughters: Rita (Joseph) Melhorn and Wanda (Robert) Filidei; mother of his children, Helen (Duncan) Thompson; wife, Lena Tawney Thompson; 5 brothers, 2 sisters, 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be Friday, May 11, 2012, at 1pm in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home with Brother Terry Bear officiating. Burial will be in Felts Cemetery in Ashland City, TN. Pallbearers will be Jamie Hazel, Shane Melhorn, Joshua Thompson, Lucas Thompson, John Thompson and Jessica Thompson. Honorary Pallbearer: Joseph Roberts.
