Billy Don "Skeet" Groves, age 73, passed away at his home on November 14, 2019. Skeet was born in Cheatham County, Tennessee, on September 20, 1946, to the late James Cleo and Ruby Ann Batey Groves. He was a retired logger. He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Tracy Sesler; brothers, Jimmy Groves and David Groves; and sister, Diane McEwen. He is survived by his wife, Linda Proctor Groves; brother, Bud (Brenda) Groves; sisters, Linda Smithson and Wanda "Pud" Hooper; grandchildren, Andin (Malachi) Mayuric, Drew Sesler, Paige Sesler; and son-in-law, Steve Sesler. Funeral service will be Saturday, November 16, 2019, at 1pm in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home with Michael Guy officiating. Burial will follow in Rock Springs FWB Church Cemetery in Charlotte, Tennessee. Visitation will be Friday, November 15th, from 3pm to 7pm and on Saturday from 11am until service hour of 1pm. Serving as pallbearers will be Dan Hooper, Howard Anderson, Steve Sesler, Drew Sesler, Sammie Gibbs and Bud Groves.
