DUKE, Billy Jack, age 83, departed this life on May 4, 2013. He is preceded in death by his father, Harlin Duke and his mother, Effie Spann Duke and 11 siblings. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Ruby Hudgins Duke; son, Steve, (Karen) Duke; daughters, Diane Watkins and Rachel (Kevin) Ellis; sister, Jessie Jones; 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Billy Jack was born in Dickson County, TN. He was a member of Jackson's Chapel Methodist Church and a U.S. Army Veteran serving proudly with the 101st Airborne. He loved his mules, loved to square dance and loved taking his granddaughter on a wagon ride. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at 2pm in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home with David Lunsford officiating. Visitation with the family will be Monday from 3pm to 8pm and on Tuesday from 10am until service hour of 2pm. Burial will follow in Jackson's Chapel Cemetery in Charlotte, TN. Serving as pallbearers are Pauly Batey, David Dycus, Ken Brown, Michael Sensing, John McMeen, Barry Simpkins, Wayne Denton, and Andy Tidwell. Honorary pallbearers are J.T.
