BETTY RUTH SMITH, age 74, passed away on Thursday, August 2, 2018, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. Betty was born on December 13, 1943, in Springfield, Tennessee, to the late Ernest and Maggie Ruth Rome Watts. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to her children and grandchildren who will greatly miss her. Betty is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Billy Ray Smith; and brother, Gerald Wayne Watts. She is survived by her sons, Billy Joe Smith and Johnny Ray Smith; daughters, Shirley Jackson, Barbara (David) Farmer and Rachel (Mark) Martin; grandchildren, Ashley, Darrell, April, Kyle, Kelly, Ethan, Leslie, Rebecca and Jenny; and great-grandchildren, Brenen, Kaiden, Kamden, Blaze, Braxton, Jayden, Elijah, Kayne and Kase; brother, Robert Glen (Jane) Watts; and niece, Mary Webb Minnick. A memorial visitation for family and friends will be Sunday, August 5th, 2018, from 3pm to 7pm in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home.
