Obituary

Betty Bowker Cannon of Pleasant View, Tennessee, had a pleasant departure to her heavenly home, under the care of Alive Hospice in Nashville, TN; on March 31, 2023; with beloved family by her side. She was born July 18, 1933, in Old Hickory, Tennessee to Elise Stone Bowker and Robert Lester Bowker, Sr.
Betty retired from State Industries (A.O. Smith) in 1991 after 24 years of employment; a founding member of the Cheatham County Historical & Genealogical Association, serving as secretary & treasurer; also, a member of Bethlehem Free Will Baptist Church.
Preceded in death by parents; husband of 47 years, Roy Dudley Cannon in 2001; brother, Robert Lester Bowker, Jr.
She is survived by daughters, Sharman (Kenneth) Dowdy of Pleasant View, TN, Trudi (Maurice) Hayes of Charlotte, TN, Kaye (Daniel) Goldthorpe of Madison, AL sisters, Barbara (Rob) Nichols and Elizabeth Bowker, both of Ashland City, TN; brothers, Jack Bowker of Charlotte, TN, and David Bowker of Ashland City, TN; grandchildren, Marla (David) Hoover of Springfield, TN, Damon (Bri) Grady of Vancouver, WA, Jennifer (Brittany) Martin of Clarksville, TN, Kristina Godwin of Phoenix, AZ, Justin (Kelly) Eads of McKenzie, TN, and Lindsay (Daniel) Archiquette of Madison, AL; and great granddaughters, Madeleine Hoover, Sophie Hoover, Kayelynn Godwin, Hazel Eads, and Cora Eads; and great-grandson, Leo Archiquette.
Funeral service will be Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at 2pm in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home with Maurice Hayes (son-in-law) officiating at Betty's request. Burial will follow in Felts Cemetery in Ashland City, Tennessee. Visitation will be Wednesday before the service from 12noon until service hour of 2pm. Serving as pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews.
The family would like to extend their thanks to NHC Springfield, Skyline Medical Center, and Alive Hospice in Nashville for their wonderful care for their mother.
