Bessie Madeline Sneed, age 86, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 14, 2021, at her home in Clarksville, Tennessee. Bessie was born in Nashville, Tennessee, to the late William Giles Swafford, Sr., and Pearline Warren Swafford. She was a retired homemaker to her family. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Billy Sneed; sons, Danny and Glen Sneed; brothers, Bud Swafford, Nathan Swafford, Sr, Sam Swafford; sisters, Mildred Farmer, Dot Black, and Helen Wright; and grandchildren, Raymond Wagner, Brandy Sneed, Steven Sneed and Danielle Sneed. She is survived by her children, Alan (Shirley) Sneed and Cathy Wagner (Jerry Ervin); brother, James "Mugs" Swafford (Jane); grandchildren, Danny Jr (Penny), Gene, and James Howard Sneed, Glen "Bubba" Sneed, Jr. and Ashley Sneed; Diana (Terry) Shelton; Bobby Sneed; Celina Reid (Kevin Van Aken) and Tracey (Jason) Stracener; 17-great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren, Fisher Blaine Shelton and Lydia Wagner; and many extended nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral service will be Thursday, March 18, 2021, at 11am in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home with Derek Wright officiating. Burial will follow Nashville National Cemetery in Nashville, Tennessee. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 17th from 11am until 7pm and on Thursday before the service from 9am until 11am.
