Porter, Barbara Ann, 82, passed peacefully June 9, 2019 at her home surrounded by family. Barbara was born July 19, 1936 on Crocker Road in Chapmansboro, Tennessee, where she lived the remainder of her life. She was the second child born to Richard M. Crocker and Susanna Bateman Crocker. Barbara worked for Acme Boot for 30 years. During this time she learned to decorate cakes and began to cater. When Acme Boot closed, she began working at Kemp's Foodland. Barbara made many birthday and wedding cakes for numerous people throughout the county and state. Barbara is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lannie Porter and brothers, Robert Crocker and Ray Crocker. She is survived by her daughters, Melissa (Terry) Durard and Debbie Porter and son, Tony Porter; grandchildren, Kristina (Stephen) Crocker, Niki Whittaker and Terry (Katie) Durard; great-grandchildren, Devon Hawkins, Dresden Brown, Dakota Brown, Madi Kae Crocker and Nolen Crocker; nieces, Cheryl Crocker and Kim Beasley. Funeral Services will be Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at 2 pm in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home with Brother Barry Raper officiating. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday, June 11, 2019 from 4-8 pm and Wednesday, June 12, 2019 from 10 am until the funeral hour of 2 pm. Burial will be in the Bethlehem Cemetery in Ashland City, Tennessee. In lieu of flowers, donations preferred to Ashland City Senior Center/Meals on Wheels.
