APPLE, Barbara Jean, age 71, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2015. She was born March 8, 1944, in Greenbrier, TN, to William Cecil Hackney and Goldie Jewel Bedwell Hackney. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jimmy Apple; brothers, Hilliard Thomas Hackney and Phillip Vaughn Hackney; and sisters, Evelyn Gower and Betty Brothers. She is survived by her two sons: Jim (Mecca) and Jason (Nikki) Apple; brother, Larry Hackney; and grandchildren, Hunter, Jewel and Samuel Apple. Barbara was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ashland City, a housewife and mother. She will be greatly missed by her friends at the Senior Center of Ashland City. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2015, at 1pm in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home with Brother Sam Creed officiating. Burial will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 11, 2015, from 2pm to 7pm and on Thursday, March 12th from 10am until service hour of 1pm. Serving as pallbearers will be Barry Russell, Barry Balthrop, Clay Hackney, Donnie Gower, Ernie Fultz, and Jessie Wayne Boyte. Honorary pallbearers are the members of the Lydia Sunday School Class.
