Ashton Cole Smith, age 22, passed away on Monday, September 19, 2022. He was born March 30, 2000, in Dallas, Texas, to Steven and Mandy Smith. He graduated from Cheatham County High School in 2019. Ashton worked for Cheatham County Animal Hospital as a vet tech. He is preceded in death by great-grandmothers, Jerri Gray, Nona Lee Williams, and Emma Ferrell; great-grandfather, Jerry Hawkins; and step grandmothers, LaVera Smith and LaVern Johnson. Ashton is survived by his parents, Steven Smith and Mandy Johnson Smith; twin brother, Hunter Smith; niece, Amayia Smith; grandparents, David Johnson, Carrol Smith, Karla Johnson, and Mary Helen Smith; uncles, Jody Smith and Joseph Smith; best friend, Joseph Collins; and many extended family members. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, September 27, 2022, at 7pm in the chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home with Pastor Derek Wright officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 27, 2022, from 4pm until the hour of service.
