Arthur "A.J." Miller, Sr., 78, of Joelton, Tennessee, peacefully departed this life on November 4, 2025.
He was born in Kinston, North Carolina, on January 6, 1947, to the late Alton Miller and Melva (Stephens) Hedgepath. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his daughter, Tracy Wiley; brothers, Arney and Anthony Miller; sister, Martha "Sissy" Lovelace; grandchildren, Cody Miller and Alyssa Miller; and grandparents, John and Lillie Stephens and Dora and Cephas Miller.

He was a United States Army Veteran and a strong Southern Baptist. Throughout his life, he served as a father, pastor, counselor, singer, friend, chef, mechanic, historian, jokester (comedian) and hardworker. He was the grandfather of 13, a devoted husband nearing his 44th anniversary with Joan on November 12, 2025, and a loving presence known for compassion, generosity, and cheerfulness. He will be greatly missed.

He leaves behind his beautiful wife, Lana Joan (Musser) Miller; sons, Arthur "Bubba" Miller, Jr. (Holly) and Shon Miller; brother, Cephas Miller; sisters, Martha Noland (Jack), Maneshia Miller, and Melba Sweeney; 13 grandchildren; and multiple great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be Friday, November 7, 2025, at 12pm in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Sweeney Cemetery in Pegram, Tennessee. Visitation will be Thursday, November 6, 2025, from 1pm to 6pm and Friday, November 7, 2025, from 10am to 12pm. Serving as pallbearers will be Arthur "Bubba" Miller, Jr., Gage Miller, Christian Noland, Jake Wiley, Cephas Miller, and Shon Miller.
