Anthony Darrell Read, age 70, passed away at his home in Ashland City surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, December 27, 2020. Darrell was born in Dickson, Tennessee to the late Claud and Ollie Fogus Read on July 1, 1950. He was a member of the graduating class of 1969 of Cheatham County Central High School, a Mason with Lodge #604, and owner of Cotton's Specialized Hauling. Darrell was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jackie Neal "Bud" Reed; sister, Libby Williams; nephew, Mike (Tammy) Reed; niece, Susan "Sam" Lampley; and brother-in-law, Steve Creech. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Becky Read; son, Tony (Amy) Read; daughter, Candice (Jason) Shoulders; sister, Debi Westbrooks; and his faithful four-legged friend, Jack Red Read. Funeral service will be Thursday, December 31, 2020, at 2pm in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home with Lee Corlew and Wade Reed officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 30, 2020, from 2pm to 7pm with a Masonic Service at 7pm and visitation will resume on Thursday, December 31st from 11am until service hour of 2pm. Serving as active pallbearers are Darrin Creech, Jeff Reed, Reed Williams, Jason Shoulders, Alex Reed, and Josh Combs. Honorary pallbearers are Cotton's Specialized Hauling Drivers: Devlin Bomar, Eric Proctor, Anthony Rigby, and Malachi Mayuric.
