Obituary

Andrew "Drew" Alan Johnson, age 46, passed away at his home on Tuesday, December 17, 2024. Drew was born in Clarksville, Tennessee, on March 14, 1978, to Rick and Adrian (Hooper) Johnson. He was a lifelong member of Ashland City United Methodist Church, a graduate of Cheatham County High School Class of 1996 and a graduate of University of Tennessee at Knoxville. Drew was a manager for the Lady Vols and part of the staff for the 1997 and 1998 national championship teams. Drew enjoyed to work and took pride in every job, project, or task he took on. From the jobs he held in high school, at Stratton's and running balls for Vanderbilt Football, to all the years he dedicated as a coach and teacher; he put his heart and soul into it all. He worked as a coach and teacher for many schools including Kenwood, Hendersonville, Portland, Columbia, Harpeth High, and Cheatham County High School. The relationships he developed with his co-workers, his students, and his players were some of most important relationships throughout his life. He had a true servant's heart. He loved his people so much and always made sure they knew. He was an avid lover of music. He loved to introduce people to new music and to always "keep it funky".
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, James and Frances Hooper and Earl Ray "Daddy Mustard" and Nancy Johnson; and uncle, Michael "Jiggs" Johnson. He is survived by his wife, Natalie (Pryor) Johnson; parents, Rick "Doots" and Adrian Johnson; son, Nolan Johnson; daughters, Lola Johnson, Katelyn Sisco and Danielle Sisco; brother, Clint (Melissa) Johnson; sister, Allison Johnson; two nephews, Sly and Hooper Johnson; Aunt Paula Quigley; cousins Patrick Gibbs, Ben Gibbs, and Katie (Gibbs) Michael; and a host of extended family, friends, and friends who became family.
A Celebration of Drew's life will be Saturday, December 21st at 2pm at the Ashland City United Methodist Church with Reverend Allison Gilliam officiating.
