Obituary

Allen "Maydell" Perry, 71, of Clarksville, TN, passed away, October 31, 2014 at his home.
A funeral service celebrating his life will be held at 1:00 p.m, Tuesday, November 4, 2014, at Cheatham County Funeral Home, Ashland City, TN. Pastor Gene Parton will be officiating. Burial will follow at Felts Cemetery in Ashland City, TN. Friends may visit from 2:00 until 7:00 on Monday, November 3rd at the funeral home and Tuesday, November 4th, 10am until service hour of 1pm.
Maydell was born June 9, 1943 in Cheatham County to Marshall and Cozette (Smock) Perry. He graduated from Cheatham County High School in 1963. On March 21, 1964, he married Marilyn Perry (Lewis) and they built their life together in Pleasant View, TN. They had three daughters.
Maydell was employed at St. Thomas Hospital for the majority of his adult life. When Maydell retired, he moved to Clarksville, TN, to be with his best friend and companion, Shirley Stewart. He spent most days working outside and buying/reselling his "commodities". Maydell loved people and had a spiritual gift of giving to others.
Maydell is survived by his three daughters, Carolyn Pendarvis and her husband Robert of Pleasant View, TN; Michelle Shumate and her husband Jeff of Smyrna, TN; Kathy Ferguson and her husband Greg of Nashville, TN. He loved his four grandchildren, Allen (Megan) Pendarvis, Shelby Pendarvis, Jaden Shumate, and Rachael Ferguson; Two great-grandchildren (Aiden & Kinley); Two sisters Louetta Harris (Garvis) of Ashland City, TN, Sue Myers (Buddy) of Joelton, TN; and Kenneth Perry (Robbie) of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Robert Perry of Ashland City, TN. Cheatham County Funeral Home 615-792-2552
