Helen Phillips Parrish

Helen Phillips Parrish, age 98, passed away peacefully on Friday morning, April 8, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. Helen was born in Nashville, Tennessee, on October 20, 1923, to the late David L. Phillips and Sally E. (Clark) Phillips. She was a homemaker to her husband and family. Helen was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wesley Parrish, Sr.; 5 brothers; 1 sister; sons-in-law, Richard Rakes and Billy Ray Bauman; daughter-in-law, Carolyn Parrish; and great-grandson, Mikie Parrish, II. She is survived by her son, Wesley Arzell Parrish, Jr., of McEwen, Tn; daughters, Connie Bauman of Chapmansboro, Tn and Shirley Rakes of Ashland City, Tn; grandchildren, Rhonda Suddeath (Jimmy), Michael Parrish, Russell Parrish (Tammy), Darrel Bauman, Cindy Romans (Steve), Becky Nicholson (Terry Lee), Keith Rakes (Mary), Bryan Miller (Donna); 16 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild due in June. Helen’s family will always remember her as a woman of faith who loved and supported her family, having a personal relationship with each one. Funeral service will be Tuesday, April 12, 2022, at 12noon with Jim Suddeath officiating. Burial will follow at 2pm in Woodlawn Memorial Park in Nashville, Tennessee. Visitation will be Tuesday before the service from 9am until service hour of 12noon. Serving as active pallbearers will be Darrel Bauman, Steve Romans, Russell Parrish, Bryan Miller, Isaac Rich, Kyle Duckworth, Terry Lee Nicholson, and Jimmy Suddeath. Honorary pallbearers are Wesley Rakes, Keith Rakes, Mike Parrish, Ryan Romans, Cody Nicholson, Seth Rollins, Nathan Parrish, Jacob Parrish, Josh Demonbreun, Mike Phillips, and elders and deacons and friends of McEwen Church of Christ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to McEwen Church of Christ, Sycamore Church of Christ or St. Jude Childrens Hospital.
