Johnny Jenkins

Johnny Jenkins, age 65, of Pleasant View, passed away on Saturday, December 19, 2020. Johnny was born in Nashville, Tennessee, on September 8, 1955. He was a member of the graduating Class of 1973 at Cheatham County Central High School, a member of Ashland City Free Will Baptist Church, a Mason with Lodge #604, on the Director’s Staff with the Al Menah Shriners and member of Teamsters Local Union #327. Johnny was co-owner of P&J Trucking for many years prior to becoming manager of Kemps Foodland in Ashland City. He currently worked as an independent contractor for the Appalachian Pipeliners Association. Johnny is preceded in death by his grandparents, Hubert and Mary Cummins and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Staton and Louise Poole. Johnny, an avid sports and nascar fan, loved his family dearly and will be greatly missed by family, friends, and all who had the pleasure to know him. He is survived by his mother, Mary Grey Jenkins; wife of over 30 years, Pam Poole Jenkins; daughter, Statia Baker; grandchildren, Jenna and Julia Baker; brother-in-law, Scotty (Beth) Poole; nieces, Jessica (Tarron) Biggs, Caitlin Poole and Courtney Hunter; sister, Jackie (Donnie) Kemp; nieces, Valerie Kemp, Melinda (Scott) Ruffin, Joanna (John) Melton; and several great-nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be Wednesday, December 23, 2020, at 1pm in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home with Brother Wayne Bess officiating. Masonic Rites will begin the funeral service. Burial will follow in EverRest of Cheatham, LLC, in Pleasant View, Tennessee. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 22nd, from 3pm to 7pm and on Wednesday, December 23rd from 11am until service hour of 1pm. Serving as active pallbearers are Keith Jennette, Shane McLaughlin, Tracy Oliver, Brady White, Scott Ruffin, and John Melton. Honorary pallbearers are Charles “Doodle” Bowman, Donnie Kemp, Scotty Poole, Mike Tant and all of his dearest pipeliner friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ashland City FWB Church or to the Shriners Hospital for Children.
