A Notice to our Families
We have been closely monitoring the current COVID-19 (Coronavirus) situation. The health and public safety of the community that we serve, and our staff, is always a top priority. The CDC (Center for Disease Control and Prevention) has issued guidance to funeral homes through the National Funeral Directors Association (NFDA) and our Tennessee Funeral Directors Association (TFDA) to prohibit public funeral services and public visitations. In accordance with the CDC, NFDA, and TFDA we are suspending these public gatherings until April 14, 2020. After this date we will reassess this decision based on the CDC recommendations. In addition, the President of the United States and the Governor of Tennessee are pleading for everyone to refrain from public gatherings. In accordance with the CDC, we are still conducting small private family services and/or private visitations to honor the life of your deceased loved one. As always, our cleaning procedures are continuing to ensure that all public spaces within the funeral home are disinfected/sanitized. In summary:
- Private family only visitation/services at the funeral home
- Private family burials
- Suspending the use of the funeral home’s lounge for food or gatherings
- Families affected will be offered a public memorial service at a later date for no additional expense
As a part of the community where we live and serve, we feel the need to do our part in complying with our United States Government to contain the spread of this very contagious virus by implementing social distancing. As a reminder, the above guidelines will be re-evaluated on or before April 14, 2020.
This is unfamiliar territory for our community and we wish everyone the very best in staying safe and healthy.
